Louis van Gaal has cast fresh doubt over Angel di Maria’s future
as Paris St Germain step up their bid for the Manchester United winger.
Di Maria is set to join up with the rest of Van Gaal’s squad in
the US this weekend.
But with PSG expected to table a £45m offer for the Argentine international Van Gaal failed to
dismiss talk of his potential Old Trafford exit.
Asked about Di Maria’s future, the Dutchman said: “I cannot
answer that. You can ask every time, but it’s a process, what I’m always
saying, and when we think we shall have to say something I shall say it.”
Van Gaal’s comments had echoes of his response to questions in
the build up to Robin van Persie’s departure to Fenerbahce earlier this month.
Just days before the Holland striker completed a move to Turkey,
the United manager said: “When we feel he is gone, you will hear from
Manchester United. We don’t have that feeling yet.”
