Kenyans mourn Saitoti in solemn mass at the Holy Family Basilica

Hundreds of Kenyans thronged the Holy Family Basilica, Nairobi to attend a funeral mass for the late Internal Security minister George Saitoti. President Kibaki, Prime Minister Raila Odinga, Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka, cabinet ministers, MPs and ordinary Kenyans were on hand to pay their respects to the late Prof Saitoti. He will be buried on Saturday at his Kitengela farm. A requiem mass for internal security assistant minister Orwa Ojode was held on Friday. Leaders praised the late Ojode as "a hero and a friend to all". The two died after a plane crash last Sunday at Kibiku forest in Ngong. They were headed to the late Ojode's Ndhiwa constituency for a church function. Also on board the fateful plane were two pilots and two security personnel.

HIV is worse than teen pregnancy, style up and protect yourself from both!

There is this notion by the Kenyan youth that getting pregnant at a young age is far much worse than getting infected with HIV/AIDS. There are those that don’t use condoms simply because they don’t like them, I know this sounds stupid but the latter is not that much better off…they use condoms simply because they are afraid of getting pregnant and if they could get other ways of avoiding pregnancies then that’s like a call to ditch all security measures and go on an all out sex rampage. With so many ways to avoid pregnancies nowadays and their cheap costs and availability, most people now even don’t bother using condoms anymore. Is the threat of society labeling you irresponsible for being a parent at a young age much worse than getting infected with the world’s number 1 killer disease?! Public Holiday For Ivory Coast After AFCON Win

Ivory Coast announced a public holiday on Monday to celebrate its dramatic win over Ghana in the Africa Cup of Nations final. A 9-8 victory on penalties on Sunday night gave the Ivorians their second title, in a repeat of the 1992 final. The game was followed by joyous celebrations on the streets the country's biggest city, Abidjan. Ivory Coast's win brings to an end a 22-year drought during which they lost twice on penalties. President Alassane Ouattara announced the paid holiday on public radio and television after the game. 'Unbelievable' Celebrations in Abidjan went on late into the night on Sunday.
