Fact: Women will do anything and everything to nab the illusive rich man. They not only want a huge magnificent wedding, but they want a fabulous life thereafter. Like in the movies. I am not one of those women who pretends to be self-righteous and declare that money is not attractive. Of course it is; the reason many women are attracted to men who have it — particularly if they have lots of it. From acquiring that fake accent to hanging out in hoity toity places to attract that ‘rich man’, women get into the chase with all they have got. It may surprise men, however, to learn that not all women who find money attractive are gold diggers. There are many reasons why women are drawn to men with money and digging is not one of them. Gold digger Wealthy equal’s security. It is comforting to know that you will never have to worry about where your next shilling is coming from. This is not necessarily the reasoning of a gold digger, but rather a woman who just wants to feel safe and financially secure. Is that a bad thing? With a rich man, a woman is assured that not only will she and her children be taken care of but that they will be given the best opportunities in life. So why would any reasonable woman want to struggle with a man who has no money? Money, for a woman, is a representation of power and there is nothing sexier to a woman than a man who has power. Ugly Back in the Stone Age, the strongest man was the most powerful and as a result he got all the women. Fast-forward to the 21st century and the man with the money is the most powerful, even if he’s as thin as a stick. Or ugly. Wealth is also a representation of swagger — that illusive X factor that turns women on. Having the ability to go out into the world and acquire sacks of money requires certain characteristics that the average male simply does not have. Qualities like confidence, determination, vision and courage. It is these personality traits that women find attractive. They tend to seek out wealthy and successful men because of a biological trigger that demands that they pass the best genes to their children. Simple. Brainless Much as women don’t want to be wealthier than their man, no woman wants to date a man who earns less. Just as most men have issues dating women who earn more than they do, so do most women. If a woman drives a Toyota, she would find it logical to date a man who drives a BMW or a better Toyota than hers. It is nothing personal — just being reasonable and practical, the same way men will always want the most attractive woman in the room, even if she is brainless. So men can marry all the women with big butts for we all we care. But because women have always been more calculating and smarter, we will stick to men with cash — lots of it.
