A snoring teenager was smoked
out of his girlfriend’s room with
kicks and blows by her enraged
father in a midmorning incident at
Kimbu village, Runyenjes
Township, last week.
According to a neighbour, name
withheld, the lover boy identified
as Thoithi is reported to have
sneaked into his girlfriend’s room
the previous night before the
family members retired to their
beds.
However, things changed when
the two lovebirds forgot his exit
plan and overslept.
Thoithi is said to have been left
in his girlfriend’s room while the
entire family went out to tend
the tea bushes.
Unfortunately, Thoithi could not
escape because the doors were
locked.
It might have been idleness or
fatigue that led the young man
to dive back into the covers and
continue with his sleep.
Amazingly, the loafer was still
fast asleep, way past after
midday, when his girlfriend’s
father returned briefly to the
house.
Daughter’s room
The old man was on the way to
the tea-buying centre when he
remembered that he had
forgotten his overcoat.
However, on opening the door,
Njiru, the girl’s father, was
shocked to hear loud snores
emanating from his daughter’s
room.
Closing the door behind him, the
startled Njiru is reported to have
called neighbours for help.
The more cautious are reported
to have remained at the door
while the brave followed the
direction of the snores in the
semi-dark house.
Walking stick
Only when they got accustomed
to the darkness were they able
to make out the shape of a
snoring figure.
On prodding it with a walking
stick, while keeping a safe
distance, the figure turned,
grunted and faced the other
side.
That was the moment Njiru
decided to pull the bed covers.
Waking up with a start, Thoithi is
reported to have sprung up with
a snake’s agility, mumbled
something, grabbed his shirt from
a nearby line and quickly made
for the door as if he was late for
an appointment.
Big deal. He was quickly floored
by a series of blows from Njiru,
his girlfriend’s father.
"You can go and start your home.
My house is not a guest house!"
he is reported to have told
Thoithi and his flame. The
‘newlywed’ couple’s whereabouts
are still a mystery.
Thoithi is suspected to have
impregnated scores of schoolgirls
because of his popularity as an
upcoming gospel artist.
